MMM'12 Day 1

First a little MMM'12 housekeeping.  Today is the very first day of Me-Made-May 2012!!! Yay!  I am going to do this a little different than I did for SSS'11. This time around I am going to try very very very hard to post every day this month!  I want to do a more 'How I wore it' type of thing.  So I will be listing everything I wore and where it's from.  As part of my MMM'12 promise I said I would were a different handmade garment each day with no repeats.  For just a little more clarification, if I do repeat a garment it must be worn with another that is not.  I had intended to do a bit more sewing last month since I mostly only have tops for myself, but I only made myself 2 pieces.  Both of which were tops, surprise surprise!  Hopefully I will be able to get a few new things sewn this month to include as well.  We'll see how this goes this month! {crosses fingers}

Today's look:
Top: Color-blocked top by me, B5753 free
Bottoms: Jeans by Mossimo at Target $28.00
Necklace: Meijer $5.00 on clearance

Sadly I couldn't get a good enough angle on myself to get my shoes in the picture but they are black patent flats from Payless for $9.00.

Total outfit cost: $42.00

This is the first time I have worn this top in public.  If you remember I was pretty on the fence about it when I finished it.  Since it has been sitting in my closet it has grown on me a little.  But today I got so many complements on it and I have come to really like it.  It is actually really really comfortable, except for the occasional scratchy sequin on the back of my neck.  This is definitely a keeper.  On a side note, it rained a lot here today so when I got home my pants were soaked.  For pure comfort I put on my black leggings and think that they also look great with this top.

  1. I really like the top and can't wait to see what else you're wearing this month. I'd love to do the MMM, but I don't think I have enough clothing to wear a whole month unless I do wash more than once a week.
