Better Late Than Never

This past month has been so incredibly busy I have not had time to sew for myself let alone think about posting anything exciting.  But work has slowed down a bit and I should be able to start sewing for myself again.  The only thing I sewed so far this year is and outfit I wore last Friday to the Super Bowl Village.  I work and live a very convenient drive from downtown Indy, so I was excited to get to go to the Super Bowl Village.  Last Friday LMFAO was giving a free concert and everyone I work with decided to go!

 Don't we all look awesome!

The Village was p-a-c-k-e-d!  So packed in fact that we never made it to the concert because police started turning people away.  That being said we still had an amazing time!

This is what I wore.  The jacket I bought at Meijer and added hot pink around the collar, neon green zebra down the arms and the back says "I Work Out".  The leggings are McCall's 6173, made from wet look spandex.  The shirt is using the same fabric and the pattern is OOP McCall's 5520.  For the top I eliminated the seam that went across the center, which would have cut my upper torso in half.  It worked out nicely.  The skirt is a refashion from a previous dress that was cut off to make a top.  I also made the hair-bow, it is stuffed with tulle to give it some body.  All in all I loved wearing this!  I can't say I will wear this outfit together ever again but I may wear each piece individually.  I did not purchase any new fabrics for this, nor did I use anything from my stash.  Everything came from scrap fabrics at work.
