Oh my it's been a couple of weeks since I posted. I have been busy busy. This past month I got a pretty good start on my SWAP. I made 1 top, 2 pairs of shorts and the muslin for my jeans. I used a total of 11 yards and only bought 10.5 yards. That doesn't make for much progress on using up half my stash. In my defense though, the fabric I did buy is all going towards my SWAP. I don't have a picture of the last pair of denim shorts I made because my $20.00 camera battery has died and I don't want to buy a new one. I am going to post my review on PR here shortly, but I used Simplicity 3690 above
I have made this pattern before and really liked them so I thought I would do it again. I have also picked the never ending quilt back up. I am making a few changes to it in the best interest of time and my sanity. As much as I want to, I have decided not to put a design in the center of each ring. We were never able to find a design we liked and I am just not putting as much time into to get it done in any reasonable time frame.
I also finished 2 scarves this month, using a total of 3 skeins of yarn. I have been buying a lot of yarn recently. I need to use a lot more before I go shopping again. It should be easy in that respect as I am working on more scarves for Christmas presents and donating to the Muncie Mission next fall. I did buy 2 skeins of yarn but it does have a purpose. Indianapolis is hosting the 2012 Superbowl and are asking volunteers to knit scarves for the 8,000 volunteers who will be working it. I love football and knitting so I will definitely help out. They estimate that if 12 scarves are donated a day they should have all 8,000 by 2012. Whew that's a lot of knitting. If you want to help you can go here to see how to get involved.
That's great pattern! The top is particularly cool. Can't wait to see those jeans!!!
